Saab expands group assembly in Finnish body shop
Saab-Valmet in Nystad Finland expands the Saab pioneered group assembly plan at its body shop. The move follows Saab-Scania’s 1971 Sodertalje launch and marks a third plant to adopt the group concept. Groups of workers now spend about one hour per car building from welding to pre painting. Trollhattan Sweden also uses the technique.
