Downtown Hayward to Begin 481 Million Shopping Center
Work to renovate a former W T Grant and Bank of America building on Foothill Boulevard will start within three weeks. The 481 million, two to three story center will host 35 shops and offices in about 40000 square feet, with a 24 hour coffee shop, three restaurants, a bookstore and more. The project is tied to a downtown revitalization plan and aims to attract 24,000 daily passerby traffic while featuring outdoor malls, clocks, landscaping, and a three level parking garage.

Five rescued from overturned offshore rig near Louisiana coast

Union City Park to be Named William Cann
Union City council decided to name a new park at Hop and Road after former Police Chief William Cann.
