The hungry youngsters enjoyed a picnic lunch sponsored by the Mt. Eden Mothers' club served to students faculty and board of trustees and their wives. Mrs Edmonds was assisted by Othella Wilkerson Arlene Corupp Laura Hoagland Anne Asson Ruby Olsen Nellie Pacheco Catherine Silva Marion Craig Nancy Murphy Beth Lingenfelter Audre y Mathison Winnie Lausten Eileen Jenkins and Olive Graham. High school girls led the day’s entertainment and games.

Eden Township Hospital Board backs Castro Valley site plan

The Eden township hospital board voted 4 to 1 to proceed with preliminary Castro Valley site studies and aim to complete plans in time for the June 1, 1951 deadline. An executive session followed a three hour meeting with more than 200 residents in attendance.

Two New Members Named to Hayward Area Recreation Board

The county board of supervisors named two new members to the Hayward area recreation district advisory board. W He. SACRAMENTO UP The state department of public works awarded a 701211.06 dollar contract to Fredrickson Watson Construction Co Qalland to build 4.0 miles of new roadway paralleling U S 50 between LS miles west of Livermore and Hopyard road in Alameda county. The four lane divided highway will link the two points.

Ashland Woman 21 Attempts Suicide in Hayward Area

Jacquelyn L. Wilson of 2220 168th Avenue Ashland district attempted to end her life by taking sleeping pills. Deputy Bartholomew, a Naval Air Station member, reported the scene and said Wilson acted while caring for his children. She was treated at Fairmont Hospital and was in good condition after stomach pumping. Her husband was killed about two years earlier, providing possible motive for the act.
