Retired Postmaster Runs 100-Year-Old Missouri Grist Mill Vacation Town
E H Bozeman, a 58 year old former postmaster who retired in 1865 after 30 years in service, now operates a century old grist mill as a vacation town in Missouri. He organized a chamber of commerce and a Red Cross chapter, pledging service without pay for a year while building local support. Through 1966 67 the effort grew from zero memberships to active offices and widespread community involvement with merchants volunteers and media backing. In spring 1968 he and his wife moved to manage the mill and a general store attracting visitors from all states and 28 foreign countries, a six month stay he calls highly rewarding. They return this year promoting the Golden Years booklet and inviting participation.

Bridges Could Reveal How Cancers Grow and Spread
AP reports researchers see cancer cell bridges connecting to normal cells and other cancer cells. Bridges may transfer DNA and trigger rapid division, offering a possible target to halt tumor growth. Studies by Sloan Kettering and NASA Langley labs explore how these bridges form and behave in tissue culture and select human cancers.
