The Qale Peterson family of Hayward expanded to six after triplet boys Richard Joseph Robert Allen and Raymond Douglas were born at San Leandro Memorial Hospital at 6 45 pm. The three newborns weighed a combined 20 pounds 9 ounces with individual weights 7 3 6 7 6. Grandmother Mrs Rusy Peterson of Oakland had predicted the arrival weeks earlier. Father Peterson 40 works as a shipping clerk for Business Equipment Co in San Francisco, and mother 2 year old wife spoke from the hospital saying the event is unbelievable yet exciting.

Collision of plane and fighter in Japan kills 162
A Japan Airlines Boeing 727 with 162 aboard and a Japanese F6F fighter collided overhead in northern Japan. The fighter pilot survived. only one foreigner, American engineer Dom M. Carpenter of Detroit, was aboard the airliner, and he is believed to be killed. By nightfall 56 bodies were recovered. Obrantz, wheelchair bound, has pursued employment since an Oak Knoll Naval Hospital discharge in 196? through multiple agencies, with today’s visit representing another step in his job search.
