Telephone agreement reported in six day old Bell strike

In San Francisco tentative contract terms were reached between Bell Telephone management and the Communications Workers of America union after a six day strike. Union official Reid Pearce said an official Washington announcement would be made by Joseph Beirne. Pickers are to return to work Tuesday morning with first shifts Wednesday. Details of the proposed contract were not disclosed and wage issues were central to the dispute.
