Tragedy on Marsh Road Claims Five Lives
An eight year old girl survived a two car head on crash south of here on Marsh Road. Five adults and a seven year old girl died. Ralph G Gonsales driving south at high speed appeared to lose control and collide with the Bean car. The survivor Mae Davis, the Beans’ niece, was treated for injuries and the young Lillie Mae Sykes died later at hospital.

Two men from San Francisco were arrested after a burglary spree linking San Lorenzo and Eden Township. James Bodhaine 25 and Andy Hermon 24 were booked after deputies stopped their car on East 14th Street and found burglary tools in a blue canvas bag bearing the seal of Nels E. Nelson, Inc. Other SF men were released after investigators found they had no part in the burglaries.

Wesley S. Pond a 38 year old burglar told police he specializes in robbing churches and admits ten church burglaries since his December release. He described an urge to break in and recounted stealing from a church savings jar and a church poor box while the Pasadena minister later lent him money. The shop, closed since Saturday night, contained tires and equipment. a nearby house survived but sustained smoke damage while traffic was diverted around the scene.
