Man faces court on dope charges
Lionel Danny Castilla, 28, of 33529 Sixth St. Union City, was bound over to superior court on March 12 after a preliminary hearing for heroin possession for sale and transporting. Police seized 131 heroin vials valued at 50 dollars each from his home after an Oct. 7 arrest. Investigators tracked an alleged supplier through a retailing suspect. Officers observed an undercover buy from Castilla, who was nabbed with heroin hidden in his sock. A search of his home followed a two-hour custody period, with defense alleging illegal entry but the judge ruling the search permissible. State agents and local police from Fremont Newark Union City participated.
