Key System plans to seek either a fare increase or service cuts to achieve a 6 percent return, according to President Frank W. Teasdel speaking to East Bay officials in Oakland. He noted a 3 percent profit since 1946 and said a state utility petition will be filed, while an East Bay Mayors committee opposes higher fares or reduced service.
State police and Contra Costa sheriff deputies searched for 12 year old Larry L Crahal son of Mrs F Crahal of Castro Valley missing two days. Anita Silva reported a boy matching his description in a creek bed near her property as he fled saying he was running away. An APB went to agencies across the state with focus on Contra Costa San Benito counties. Larry may be headed toward Hollister to Mrs Flo Driscoll. He is about five feet tall 83 pounds with olive complexion brown eyes and brown curly hair. He wore blue jeans a grey and blue wool plaid shirt and a blue grey coat and may have a knapsack.

Rossellini paced the clinic corridors as the delivery occurred at 7 p.m. yesterday.

Dr. Jerome Feldman a local physician suffered a fractured knee cap and minor bruises after his car was demolished in a collision on 6400 MacArthur boulevard early Tuesday morning. The other driver was arrested for drunken driving as Feldman, en route to Children’s Hospital, wore a cast for three weeks but remained at regular office hours.

The plan, tied to a $100,000 bond, was part of a Bay Area Council proposal to Nine Toll Bridge authority engineers.
Construction to begin within ten days on five miles of major water lines in the northeasterly Castro Valley area. P and J Artukovich, Inc. won the $85,786.50 contract, per A C Carrington East Bay Municipal Utility District director. Line will run from Castro Valley pumping plant to Castro Valley reservoir along President Drive Camino Dolores Rolland Avenue 169th Street and adjacent roads.
Sacramento report says California motorists must renew auto registrations by noon tomorrow to avoid penalties. A. H. Henderson, head of motor vehicles, notes state offices close Saturday for personal renewals. Mailed renewals postmarked by tomorrow night will be accepted without penalty. Penalties outlined include 100 percent of the $6 registration fee and 50 percent of the vehicle license fee plus 100 percent of commercial weight fees.
A federal mediator will confer in New York today with company union officials to avert a nation wide strike of 100000 telephone workers on Feb 8. In Hayward Pacific Telephone manager Kenchelian notes the contract runs to July 16 with automatic progression raises likely to boost 1950 payroll and wages for craftsmen and operators.

The Alameda county library in San Lorenzo Village moves closer to construction after the district attorney rules the county can build on leased property. Supervisor Janssen recommends surveys of the 45 by 106 foot site on Community Center land offered for 49 years at $1 annually. The county has $25,000 set aside for a library building, with plans delayed by leasing negotiations. Some fear the lease could impede construction.
A 1940 Chevrolet was found ablaze in the middle of Mission Grade near San Jose with the car on its side facing north. California highway patrol officers found the rear tires and trunk interior burning and no occupant at the scene.

At the next meeting reconsideration of Lewelling may occur as pilings estimated at 15 000 to 20 000 dollars spark cost discussions. the board has authorized Leslie Williams to sign applications for state and federal cooperation and a revised hospital cost breakdown must be filed with the state.
