The fishing boat Yankee Trader owned by Sherman Miller of Portland rolls on her starboard side in heavy surf off Terminal Island Los Angeles harbor. Crew cannot start engine or maneuver, Pinky rammed the vessel into rocks. Lobster cargo likely ruined by diesel oil. Miller's loan estimate around 70,000 dollars. Coast Guard says wreck poses no navigation threat.

Fremont Officials Weigh 100 Million Track Stadium Plan

Fremont city and chamber officials met with Oakland developer to discuss a 100 million horse and auto racing stadium near West Warren Avenue and the Nimble Freeway. Ransom Case Tangles Over Missing San Leandro Poodle

In San Leandro Mrs Betty Sousa reports her silver gray poodle Frenchy missing. She says a couple telephoned claiming to have found him at 60th Street and Telegraph Avenue Oakland and demanded a $200 reward. The collars and breed mismatches led her to suspect the couple provided a Chihuahua sized decoy. Police are investigating.

Adulthood law to 18 cuts welfare rolls in California
