Two Die in Alameda County Christmas Traffic
Alameda County recorded only two traffic fatalities during the Christmas holiday period, far fewer than the National Safety Council predicted. One death occurred in Oakland and the other on Palomares Canyon road near Castro Valley, with 17 people injured in 11 accidents in the south county. Two Killed in Cleveland Greyhound Bus Station Shooting

Dog Guards Frozen Boy in Baraboo Woods
A seven year old boy froze to death Christmas Eve five miles west of Baraboo, Wisconsin. The boy, Lawrence Michel, was lost while hunting with his father Henry Michel, 46.
