In Austin Minnesota three children aged five and nine died in a house fire sparked by a candle or matches in a closet where they were peeking at Christmas gifts. The Bottleson family tried to rescue them as smoke and flames blocked upstairs access. the mother fled with two year old Chris while flames trapped the others.
