Fire Rages Through Yacht Club Building in San Francisco

A two story stucco yacht club building in San Francisco was destroyed by a fire that killed three people and injured several others. Fire Chief Andrew Casper said flames shot 100 feet high and the auditorium ceiling collapsed during the blaze. About 200 firefighters worked two hours to control the fire assisted by boats and Coast Guard crews. Built in 1927 and designed by architect Austin Moore, the structure echoed Monterey’s Customs House style.
