Christmas Program at First Christian Church Slated
A holiday program will be held Sunday night at 7:30 in the First Christian Church at 380 Grant Avenue San Lorenzo Village. Rev. J Avie Burgess is absent. Rev Donned Bauter Ul will conduct services with De Witt L Bumn Berner organizing the event featuring a Prelude of Christmas Songs by Margaret Thomas and Bumgarner. The program includes a Christmas Trilogy, readings, a candle scene, and musical performances by local youths and adults including Parke, LaValley, Spengler, Wilcox, and Vinson.

Southern Baptists In San Lorenzo Plan Yule Observances
Christmas program plans were announced for the First Baptist Church of San Lorenzo. A Santa Claus appearance will follow a film showing at 7:09 p.m. on December 23 at directory on College Street. The church will host Christmas morning services at 9:45 a.m. for Sunday school and 10:00 a.m. worship. Rev. Bowen will preach at the morning service with evening worship at 3:30 p.m. and a preaching hour at 3:30 p.m.

The sixth annual Village Homes Christmas Decorating contest begins this week with judging each night from Saturday December 17 through December 24, ending around 10:30 pm. Prizes total 150 dollars with 50 to first, 49 to second, 20 to third, and five $10 honorable awards from local sponsors. Ashland Defeats Sunset in Third Straight Foothill Tilt
Ashland eighth and ninth grade teams won their third straight game by beating Sunset 12 to 9 on Friday. Jackie Mayberry scored twice for Ashland, with one TD on a Grace to Mayberry pass and another from a Grace to Mandrid lateral, then a Mayberry reception led to the second score.
