National Christmas Tree to be lit by GE designer
Alvin L. Hart of General Electric will illuminate the National Christmas Tree for the 9th time, using a warm red dominant scheme with 5,000 lights and careful color balance to suit distant viewing. He notes scaffolding limits, favors symmetry, and applies a height times width times three rule for lighting.
