Dublin Fire Department Captain Loses Home To Blaze
A Dublin flash fire at 292 Davena Drive destroyed the home of Dublin Fire Department Captain Yom Robello while he and his family were away. Three firemen were injured, two with burns and one with a cut hand, as crews battled the flames with engines and volunteers. Cause under investigation. In Hayward, a library closet fire caused 47,000 damage at Weekes Park Library. Fremont also saw two blazes including an empty house owned by local doctors and a garage attic fire, with multiple damages reported. No injuries in Fremont incidents.

Baby dies as mother found in snow near Boise
Barefoot mother Wilma Lindsey, 26, was located incoherent in a winter storm. She carried her 4 year old son Matthew to safety in a car, but her infant Andrew died under inches of new snow. Lindsey was treated for exposure and frostbite at a Boise hospital. Two children were reported missing in the wilderness.
