IRS approves two month tax extension with catches
UPI reports IRS Commissioner John N. Walters announced an automatic two month extension for income tax return deadlines with two conditions. Returns must include a tentative tax estimate when requesting the extension and the taxpayer must agree to pay any estimated balance due at filing. Walters spoke at the American Institute of CPAs in Boca Raton and defended tax preparers while vowing to crack down on unscrupulous firms.
