Hayward to Name Hanley as City Manager
Hayward officials indicated today that Hanley has been chosen for the $35,000-a-year post. An official announcement is expected tomorrow from May or Leo Howell. Hanley, at odds with some council members, would not comment, saying final arrangements remain. The job, vacated after Ray Doran resigned for health reasons, has been interim filled by Bernice Smith and later Neal Bearden.
