Gibbon training project expands to other zoo animals
At the Portland Zoo Dr Hal Markowitz leads a program where gibbons were trained to obtain food via a light lever system, promoting active feeding and health. The approach, now extended to elephants, seals, a camel, a giraffe, and other species, aims to give animals more control over their environment and improve well-being.
