Defensive Play Gives Missouri Victory Over Indiana
Missouri stifled Indiana on defense to upset the fifth ranked Hoosiers 64 to 54 on Indiana's home court. Norm Stewart's Tigers used stout guard pressure to limit outside shots and built a midgame lead that Indiana could not overcome. Don Schlundt led Indiana with 27 points while Bob Reiter guarded by Missouri's defense helped contain the Hoosiers. Missouri emerges as a strong Big Seven contender, while Iowa, Duquesne, and Utah posted wins elsewhere in a busy early season slate.
