CV High School Site Completed By New Purchase
CV High School site in Castro Valley was completed last night as board members reached agreement with Charles and Henry Giabibruno for purchase of the 3-acre property on Redwood Road for 43 750. The board designated April 17 for bid opening for a boys gymnasium at the new San Lorenzo campus and earmarked 300 000 for 48 construction. They scaled down plans to minimum requirements and set February 11 for an open house at the new plant. First classes will begin after Christmas vacation. The district now owns four campus sites Hayward San Lorenzo Tennyson and Castro Valley. The sellers may remain on the property through December 1 1951 and may remove improvements except the house well and utilities. A chicken house at Castro Valley site is being renovated by the Castro Valley Parent Nursing school under the high school’s adult education program. Up to 500 will be spent on repair materials with a further 1000 anticipated for materials and labor donations.

SACRAMENTO U P The State Motor Vehicles advisory committee voted here yesterday to seek a 50 mile an hour speed limit for trucks when the legislature meets next month. The present limit 40 mph applies to trucks. They would seek the higher limit for trucks weighing 25 000 pounds or more.
