Four year old dies in Oakland home fire
In Oakland a four year old boy Michael Tippitt died in a fire that partially destroyed the family home. His five year old brother Charles suffered first and second degree burns while another brother was slightly burned and the stepfather Wesley Rivers was injured. Rivers carried the boy to safety then tried to reenter the blaze but flames repulsed his effort. Firefighters and police were unable to reach Michael and he died from the fire likely due to suffocation.
