Washington UP I reports the Agriculture Department cut its 1976 food price forecast and one official predicts grocery price gains will be the smallest in four years. He says first-half 1976 prices may average about 4.5 percent above a year ago, down from prior 6 percent.

Quiet end to big uproar

In Fremont an uproar over Escortsn ended with manager Barbara Ellen Rayner paying a 525 fine. Rayner 24 faced resisting arrest kicking an officer while cast on foot possession of marijuana zoning violations and a hit and run. Her workers 38708 Farwell Drive faced marijuana possession and liquor without a license charges. Two officers faced solicitation claims but no charges followed. Venue shifted to Alameda Municipal Court where Rayner paid the fine Monday and most charges were dismissed except a city code violation which she pled no contest to and was found guilty.
