Ford says Navy to aid evacuation of South Vietnamese
President Ford ordered all available U S Naval ships to stand off Indochina to assist refugees in what he called a great human tragedy. He sent giant C5 transports to Saigon to fly 2000 South Vietnamese orphans to the United States and urged cutting red tape to speed their entry.
