Brawl at Leith Walk Involves Merchants Porters Sailors

From Edinburgh March 30 a violent scuffle occurred near Leith Walk after a bundle claim by Ross of Hamburg. Porter and two sailors clashed with armed men. a sword, cutlass, and pistol were used, a wound occurred, and two prisoners were taken. Soldiers on horseback aided, with some claiming an Excise officer ordered the seizure. The dispute centers on contraband allegations and authority.
