Opena county Michigan electors and others are urged to send delegates to a Republican county convention in the city jail at Sault Ste. Marie on February 28 1903 at 2 p m. Delegates elected will attend the state convention in Detroit March 6 1903 and nominate a county commissioner of schools plus other business.
Mrs Albert J Senff, a well known Menominee florist, horsewhipped A Hansen of Marinette in front of Lumberman's National Bank on Main Street. The dispute over money owed led to blows and a chase as Hansen fled. Witnesses described a dramatic scene in broad daylight, with hats knocked off and a buggy whip used. Hansen escaped without further injury.
In Kalamazoo County Dr John T Woods investigates the disappearance of 28 year old Annie Rothschild, last seen as the heiress to a $100,000 Bohemian estate. Her sisters Clara Dawkins and May Rothschild remain in Michigan after a family move from Bohemia. a Chicago orphanage upbringing and later transfers complicate the case.
Lan caster New Brunswick resident F J Green credits Electric Bitters with curing long term indigestion and nervous issues. He praises its effects on his wife as a remedy for female troubles and a superior tonic. The ad advertises 56 cents with a satisfaction guarantee and lists local merchants. A second notice promotes dry hardwood for 2 75 with delivery by the Soo Lumber Co. and a contact phone number.
