Montana Troops Return Home from Manila Voyage
Special to the Inter Mountain reports Montana soldiers aboard the transport Zealandia docking at San Francisco. D, G, K, M, FE and H companies march to Camp at the Presidio amid welcomes by California and Montana officials, bands, and cheering crowds. The First Montana, with 143 casualties, is celebrated for valor and patriotism while officers note battle fatigue and illness after long campaigns, and a San Francisco theatre party awaits the full regiment next week.
