Insurgents Attack Train Near Angeles Killing Two Americans
A party of insurgents ditched a railroad train a mile and a half south of Angeles this morning and opened fire on the derailed cars from a bamboo thicket. Two Americans were killed and five others wounded. Lieutenant Lome and six scouts on the train defended the group, forcing the attackers to flee. Six dead rebels were later found in the thicket. General Wheaton with six companies moved from Calulet for relief, but not needed.
