Suit on Waller Policy Transferred to Federal Court
Barney Call as administrator of William Waller's estate sues Union Life Insurance, alleging mispayment after a note and premium were handled in a prior case. Waller applied for a $5,000 policy in May 1898, his wife Hannah named beneficiary but died before him, and Waller died November 1, 1898. A justice court awarded $172 on the note, but payment was refused after Waller's death, prompting the administrator to seek policy payment and challenge the note's outcome and the company’s handling of the cash and judgment against Waller’s estate.
