Will Not Prosecute After Dramatized Shootout Near Divide
A preliminary hearing in Justice Nichols' court today centered on the Divide shooting of Lewis Olson by Henry Davis. Olson, drunk and armed, urged Davis to draw first, and Olson was later shot near the door as both men sought their revolvers. Davis, a Draper resident, claimed self defense and said Olson implied another unknown shooter. The case was continued to 9 o'clock tomorrow after one witness testified and Olson expressed he did not wish to prosecute.

Street car line planned to Walkerville by December
Walkerville will gain a new street car line from Butte with operation expected by December 1 or 10 at the latest. The franchise was granted by the Walkerville council, ground will be broken soon, and the line will extend the Excelisio line past the reservoir into West Daly street and Dunn avenue behind Broughton's store. Manager Wharton says the project is a paying investment that will raise the value of the city street railway system and aid home building, with surveys completed and the route chosen as best. A special council meeting will fix finer franchise details as residents await the jolt to growth and a grand town welcome when the line arrives.
