In San Francisco officials cannot explain alleged unseaworthiness of the transport Mananense, whose Manila arrival was reported today. An Associated Press porter asked officials who denied under manning and cited an excellent engine condition after overhaul. The ship was said to be well provisioned for six months and fully stocked, though questions remained about fowl supply.
