Power Struggle Hidden Behind Quiet Democratic Convention
The Clark Dalyite split over mayoral harmony is masked by a peaceful show as the Clark and Daly factions claim unity. A Washington influence and a young political operative shaped a balanced ticket, while suppressed resolutions accuse W A Clark of bribery and aim at his allies. Campbell faces criticism amid pro Daly figures.

L G Livingston, about five months in this city, faces a jury for a January 13 forged check incident at Paxson and Rockefeller's drug store. He previously avoided forgery charges after a motion to dismiss. He claimed a $50 check from Hy. B. Gaffney via a “house cleaning” business sale paid him for work. The trial proceeded with cross examination about other possible bogus payments and a witness testimony of gold pieces used in a “flash” with a girl present. The case was sent to the jury for decision.
