Struck Cavanaugh On the Head With a Bolt

Special to the Inter Mountain Glendive Mont March 30 Joseph C Hurat was hanged at 2 23 am. The trap sprung at 2 28 respiration stopped 2 33 pronounced dead 2 39 put down 2 43. He said it is a terrible mistake I forgive you all the same as Jesus did. Ex Attorney General Haskell saw him in his cell and asked disposition of the body. About seventy five persons present. Doctors J H Hunt and F B Gray pronounced him dead. Rev Father Claude M Ebner C S B of Dickinson ND was with Hurst on the scaffold. He was taken in the Catholic church half hour before execution. He directed burial in his wedding suit after. His wife two little boys his parents and other relations visited him for last time. He kissed his boys farewell and also his wife and parents brothers and sisters.

French Army Wins at Tarahr Victory Reported

Paris reports a French victory over the Arab army at Tarahr southwest of Algeria after a march on March 19 led by Lieutenant Colonel Eu.
