Big Hole provisions flow to Montana ranchers from Anaconda
Anaconda again proves a key supply point as three freight wagons carry over 90 000 pounds of provisions to the Big Hole country for upcoming hay harvest. James Ennes, furman of Walker & Bielenberg outfits, purchases the goods, highlighting continuous rancher demand and Anaconda’s trade appeal over Dillon. Roads must improve to sustain this commerce, or ranchers will seek alternate routes. A mammoth sociable at St Peters church, hosted by the Altar society, drew large crowds with Chinese lantern lighting and a concert by the Margaret Theater orchestra. Miss Mary H Brennan led the event with a capable committee and table hosts from local families.
