Open to Entry a Long Overlooked Claim in Emery Placer
A 600 by 1500 foot quartz-bearing claim named Revelation and Justice was filed today in the county clerk’s office within the city limits. Located between Gaylord street and Ohio avenue and Jefferson and Mercury streets, it sits among adjacent claims Solid Muldoon Ottaco and May and Maud, and covers part of the Emery placer recently patented to Tong, Emery and others after a long dispute. Nearby Wrights, who have a history with police court, and Mrs Hor Howe and Jess Olson were fined for disturbances, and dairy cows were listed for quick sale. The Spokane item also recalls a New Year scene where a high school girl snatched Pullman buttons from a porter, ending with a dramatic thwarted attempt and the porter’s uniform intact.
