Anaconda Fire Anniversary Recalled In Town Chronicle
The article recounts Anaconda’s thirteenth anniversary fire when the business district burned at 2 am after Washington’s Birthday festivities. It notes lack of fire department, water works, a two foot snow cover that aided containment, and that only a few brick buildings survived while Main Street and Park Avenue areas were later rebuilt or cleared, leaving Gus Olson's saloon at No. 1 Main Street as a remnant.
