Rarus Mine Accident Leaves Two Miners Injured
Miners Joseph Collie and John Call were hurt when timbers failed at the 400 level of the Rarus mine around 2 AM. Collie suffered a crushed shoulder while Call received spinal injuries, both rushed to Mur ry Freund's hospital. Death of an Old Timer James Lewis Dies at 63
James Lewis a long time resident of the city died at his home 23 East Daly Street aged about 63. He helped organize the Miners' union and remained a member until his death. He was also active in the Ancient Order of Americans. The funeral will be tomorrow at 2 PM at his residence under the auspices of the A O H.

Chris Miller a young Singer Sewing Machine employee died of pneumonia yesterday at Sister's hospital. Recently arrived from Calumet, Mich he was respected in the city and leaves a wife and two small children in Calumet. The family intends to join him soon and funeral arrangements were not yet set with plans likely for transport to interment.

Fire at Bennett block basement blaze wounds no major damage
About 11 pm the fire department responded to a blaze in the Bennett block at Park and Avigona streets. Paper and rubbish in the basement caught from a furnace but the property sustained only minor damage and the danger passed.
