The Anaconda crowds praised the Christmas Inter Mountain edition in Anaconda last night. About 2,500 copies of the 46 page issue circulated, with newsboys selling papers at 10 cents each and carriers rushing routes to meet demand.
Teachers from outside attended a Deve Lolke institute meeting in the city, staying overnight and enjoying a royal reception. A special car transported attendees to the Carroll Ty smelter to view ore refining and a visit to the Anaconda plant followed. A Catholic chair roomy visit occurred in the evening. A resolutions committee thanked Miss Gleeson and others for their help, and newspapers were thanked for publishing the proceedings.
The Epworth League and Sunday school of the Methodist church plan to distribute many Christmas presents to city poor families. The public is invited to donate clothing vegetables meats flour or toys, bringing items to the church the day before Christmas Monday. Receipts will be given in the afternoon and evening, with goods delivered to homes on Christmas Day. Mr McRae heads Mercy and Help for the league and seeks more needy families.
The Elks of Anaconda busy with Christmas preparations for a grand display at Turner hall next Monday. A sixty foot tree was raised this morning and hall decorating has begun.
The Wednesday Afternoon Euchre club gathered at Mrs Neal's Cherry street home. First prize went to Mrs McLain with Mrs Kemble and Mrs Davidson in second and third. The usual game time occurred. The next party will be hosted by Mrs Rood on Third street.
