Information reached the city last evening that Mrs. White mother of W. Mc. White of this city died yesterday morning in Burlington Town. Mr White was told of his mother's illness earlier in the week and departed on the first train for Burlington, but it is doubtful he reached Lime before her death.
A. C. Bertram, 96, a plumber, was found dying in a room above Malis’ plumbing shop on East Galena Street. He claimed to have been kicked by an unknown assailant and later died after being taken to the Southern Hotel. Police say he lived as a boarder, had recently traveled from Anaconda, and had suffered several hemorrhages in recent days. The coroner’s jury will investigate whether death was from natural causes or the alleged kick.
H C Vanmeter a well known California attorney with Madison county mining interests died of pneumonia at 2 50 this morning after a five day illness. He returned from Madison county recently and stayed with friend H N Baggs. News of his death shocks Baggs and relatives in Woodbridge San Joaquin county California.
Undertaker Richards in Butte received a telegram from Secretary George Chandler of the Eagle lodge in Wallace Idaho stating the lodge president would arrive tonight to supervise Connollys remains disposal. Dispatches from Patrick J Connolly of DeKalb Illinois request embalming and shipment to Hornetaville New York where several relatives live. A similar message reached Mayor Mee Worthy. The remains will not be disturbed until the Eagle lodge president arrives.
