The matter was referred for investigation and the pair are now under charity care.

Grace McGinniss reported to police that a solitaire diamond ring valued at 450 was stolen from her room on East Mercury Street. The ring belonged to a business man whose identity she kept private. Northern Pacific runs passenger trains from Butte to St Paul and Minneapolis.
