Omaha National Bank assistant cashier Edward F Balch was assaulted in his berth on a Northwestern train near Boone Town and robbed of 190 dollars. He was moved to his home for treatment as doctors were summoned. Mrs Ambretti, a local resident, also lost a small sum. The crime occurred while all passengers slept and no clues exist. Balch regains consciousness and may identify the assailant.

W A Paxton a leading Omaha capitalist was robbed in his berth aboard the Illinois Central during the night. The thief took 150 dollars in cash several valuable papers and a number of railroad passes.
