Four Omaha firemen perished when a live wire in a Mercer Chemical Company upper floor loft sparked a blaze. Lieutenant Joseph Adams Otto Kat George Engineer Charles Hopper and others were among the injured and killed as crews battled flames in a five story building. The incident began in a store room on the fifth floor and ladder crewmen were struck as a live high voltage line arced near the scene.
