August 7 1899 report from Hamilton Montana area notes David Sturdevant purchasing the Robert Wolpert place two miles north of Como and planning a residence in Hamilton. A temporary river bridge should be finished today but iron shortages delay the new bridge. Harvest prospects are fair and Burnt Fork placer work draws attention as deeper mining yields coarser gold.
