A Baltimore Sun account details a unique twenty mile line from Brandywine in Charles county to Mechanicsville in St. Marys, run by the Washington and Potomac Railroad company. The single daily train comprises engine, one freight car, and one combined baggage and passenger car with a conductor who also acts as baggage master and general manager. He issues and obeys running orders, with no ticket agents and fares punched on slips.
