Two Kentuckians Murdered by Everett Gang In Rebel Skirmish
The Sandusky Register reports the shooting of Major Thomas Hamrick and Captain Evans by Everett's gang as murder, not a skirmish with rebels. Hamrick, ex 23d Kentucky, and Evans of the 10th Kentucky Cavalry were killed at Capt. Evans' home while unarmed. Lieut. Colonel Maltby later engaged rebels, with about a dozen killed or wounded and twenty captured.
