Big Steel Producers Sign New Pact in Pittsburgh

United Steelworkers union leaders announced a historic contract with Big Steel and Bethlehem Steel Co. giving workers a five cent hourly wage hike and pension and insurance improvements. The deal, effective July 1 for wages and November 1 for benefits, aims to end fears of a strike as major producers align with this agreement. The pact totals about 12 cents in hourly package increases and raises pensions to 140 a month for 30 years of service, with insurance costs rising for both sides.

Body of Fifth Boat Mishap Victim Found

Dynamite in Car Shocks Washington
