J J Hoxsey a long time Mexico hotel proprietor died at midnight in his apartment at the Hoxsey hotel after a week of illness. He served on the Missouri Kansas Oklahoma Hotel Association board and owned an apartment house. Survived by widow daughter Mrs John Buckner and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon.

Probe into fatal shooting near Iberia continues
TUSCUMBIA Mo June 22 Sheriff Lafe King tonight continued his investigation into the fatal shooting of Everett Bilyeu and said charges likely would not be filed until after an inquest Wednesday at St Elizabeth. Everett Stark 35 Bilyeu partner was arrested last night and held in the Tuscumbia jail. Stark said he shot Bilyeu Sunday afternoon after Bilyeu grabbed a pitch fork and charged him on a jointly operated farm about four miles northeast of Iberia.

Retired Tans Farmer Dies of Heart Trouble
Ben Schulte, a longtime Jefferson City resident, died at St. Mary’s hospital after an extended heart illness. He was 81. Born in Taos, he farmed in Uniswity before retiring and moving to Jefferson City. Surviving are his widow Anna Mary Schulte and children August, Fred Berendzen, and Mrs. Lee Grady and Mrs. Harry Fields. A brother, William Schulte, also resides in Jefferson City. Funeral services will be held at St. Peter’s Church with burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
