Snow, legal battles, and liquor cases stir Georgia notes
A mix of small town items runs through the week. Snow hit Indiana and Texas while crop planting slows in Georgia due to drought. A Georgia cigarette tax case heads to the U.S. Supreme Court, tying up an $85,000 bond. Judge Sibley allows liquor car seizures and forfeitures even without liens, sparking debate over fairness. Minor legal skirmishes involve Rev. Graham suing bank VP G. C. Kidd for slander, and local anecdotes recount folks contemplating public actions over liquor and property.
