Dahlonega awaits the next edition noting a Chicago dentist’s dangerous tooth extraction and a Jackson mayor’s concealed weapons indictment. Judge J B Jones may seek the northeastern circuit judgeship while fading trains of pension and liquor debates ripple through Athens and Macon. The paper also reports Cuban army costs, Dawsonville whiskey seizures, and a Macon bank loss prompting calls for harsher laws.
A pastor led a well attended service drawing members from afar. Elsewhere Rev Dowdy and assistants held a week long meeting with many conversions but some disturbances. Other churches reported modest gains and a large eight day meeting at Dahonega Campground ended with strong unity and prayer for revival.
