The Appeal editor laments a staff shortage caused by an epidemic and references a past fire in 1870. The column mentions a monument committee for Dr Hamilton’s memory, a Cuthbert Band fundraiser, Miss Bonnie Moyer’s troupe, and the death of Mrs A S McBride.
